Liiar analysis

On this front page of the NME it features Arctic monkeys. The choice of language is very ego boosting for the bands. they big the bands up which makes people want to read to find out more. they ask questions to drag us in to read because we all want to know the answers. the institution of this magazine in the New musical express. NME is all about upcoming bands, they try to predict what the new trends will be and in many way sets a lot of trends among the demographic for the magazine. The magazine is targeted at 16 to 30 year olds who enjoy music. a lot of the readers attend regular gigs and music festivals. The way they represent the magazine is very odd. they have the band up front covering the masthead and the institutions name. this creates the connotations that its all about this band and shows us how important they are. The text they used if block capitals this makes it stand out and is very hard to miss. The choice of colours are very out there and this helps draw us in to read more.

This is the contents page of NME. The title is very big and attracts are attention straight away by putting "NME THIS WEEK" it lets us know the magazine is every week and that it will be different all the time. in the contents they have split it up into category's, this makes for easy reading and navigation of the magazine. they give us a story to start us off which hooks us in and gives us an idea of what they will be talking about. They have a band index down the side which also makes for easier navigation of the magazine. the choice of colours is good as red clearly indicates the important information like the page number and bands. there is an arrow on the bottom right which is trying to get us to turn the page and get trapped in the magazines musical story's.

This is the double page spread of NME magazine. it features enter shikari. The choice of image is good and really expresses the ideology of the band. the tittle is big and drags us in and makes us ask questions. the colours are very nice on this double page spread and create a contradicting connotation to the tittle as the connotations of blue are calm and relaxing yet "There's a riot going on!" the dominant part of this double page spread is Rory the guitarist leaping in the air. on the right side of the double page spread is the story which features other pictures as well to help create a better understanding of the band.
